Meet Katalin Pankotay - The Hungarian Translator

Katalin Pankotay - Hungarian TranslatorMy name is Katalin Pankotay and I am a native Hungarian from the county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg. I started learning English when I was 9 years old. I left Hungary for the United States when I was 16 and became fluent during the following two years which I spent studying there.

Afterwards I studied for my degree (BA in Business Studies specializing in Marketing) in Budapest where all my subjects were taught in English. This is where I gained my business language knowledge. My subjects included marketing, economics, finance, accounting, CRM, HR just to mention a few. Of course each came with its own specific jargon which I had to get acquainted with.

During university I spent my work placement year in London at a creative marketing agency. After finishing university I returned to London and have been living here now for three years.

I worked for a hearing protection company in central London for two years where I strengthened my business language knowledge and learnt audiology and hearing protection terminology and jargon. In the second year managing the company I had the chance to learn about more specific business areas which further developed my understanding of financing, accounting & legal terminology.

During the three years I have been here in London I have predominantly socialised with UK native residents which has given me a chance to become immersed in the local culture and slang.

My understanding of the English language and cultures has reached a point where I am more than qualified to offer a high quality Hungarian English translation service. Kind regards,

Katalin Pankotay
